The Tradition

These beautifully crafted lanterns, often illuminated from within, represent the full moon, which itself is a traditional symbol of completeness and togetherness in many Asian cultures.
The act of lighting, displaying, and parading with moon lanterns during the festival signifies a beacon of hope and a shared celebration. Families gather to admire the lanterns, often making them together, which strengthens familial bonds and fosters a sense of collective purpose. The circular shape of many traditional moon lanterns further reinforces the idea of wholeness and cyclical harmony.
Water Lanterns
1. Decorate the paper covering of your water lantern with whatever is in your heart. Set your wishes, dreams, & hopes free.
2. Place support sticks on the holes on the corners of wooden base
3. Fit paper covering over the support sticks
4. Release your lantern into the water when it's time!
